My (Cupcake) Love Story
Everyone always wants to know why. Why did you open a bakery? Why cupcakes? Why Cupcake Love?
My story is simple. It starts with a weekend rendezvous, a love of food, and a passion for all things sugar.
When my husband and I had a chance to get away for a quick weekend without our beautiful children, we packed our bags, grabbed our Zagat guide and ran out the door. When we vacation, it is all about the food. Where are we going to eat, when are we going to eat and what should we eat. On this trip, we had dessert at a cupcake bakery that friends had recently recommended and this visit changed my life. I hate to be so dramatic, but it is true. I fell passionately in love with the cupcake.
The weekend ended and we came back to town. A few days later I wanted more cupcakes. I searched and searched and there were no cupcake bakeries to be found in San Diego. I was devastated. I was so obsessed by then that I decided to quit my job and open a cupcake bakery. San Diego needed one! Ok, I needed one!
It took a year to find the perfect location, the most delicious recipes, the highest quality ingredients and the nicest employees. Now that I am confident that I have found all of these-everyone can have fabulous cupcakes whenever they want.
